Hello Everyone...
I was invited to participate in the Alma College and Chippewa Nature Center Bird Banding Program. What an AWESOME experience!! If you ever get a chance to attend on...GO! You will not be disappointed. It's a chance to see the birds up close. The bird banding station is at the east end of the Wetlands area at the Chippewa Nature Center off Gray Road. The program is from 8am till noon. The public is always welcome.
The summer bird banding schedule is...
June 4th, 11th and 24th
July 2nd, 16th and 23rd
August 6th
The August 6th Bird Banding Program resulted in a total of 26 individuals of 10 species of which 23 were New Birds, two were Recaptures and one was Unbanded. The two recaptures were young birds first banded in mid-July. Most banded today were young of the year.
