The Summer Bird Banding Program at Chippewa Nature Center began on May 15, 2010. The program is lead by Mike Bishop, researcher and president of the Michigan Bird Banding Association and CNC staff. If you ever get a chance to attend...please go!! You will not be disappointed. It is an AWESOME experience to see the birds up close. The public is always welcome to attend and its free!!
The bird banding station is at the east end of the Wetlands area at the Chippewa Nature Center off Gray Road. The program is from 8am till noon. The gate is open for parking during banding hours only. If the weather is questionable that day, you can always call the Chippewa Nature Center after 8am.

The May 15th Bird Banding Program resulted in a total of 37 individuals of 23 species of which 26 were New birds and 11 were Recaptures.
