Hello Everyone...
These photo's of a male Bobolink were taken at the Chippewa Nature Center on June 13th. This bird is currently the most challenging bird for me to photograph these days!! The first photo shows their favorite habitat, the meadowlands. You can hear the birds singing, but almost impossible to find or see in the grasslands. Luckily, I had one take flight and he stayed out of the meadowlands.

Birds ~~ Bobolink
Hello Everyone...
These photo's of a male Bobolink were taken at the Chippewa Nature Center on June 5th. The Bobolink is 6 to 8 inches in length. The male is the only songbird that is solid black below and largely white above, suggesting a dress suit on backward. The male has a buff-yellow nape. The female is buff-yellow in color with dark stripes on back and crown. The Bobolink's bill is more like a sparrow's than a blackbird's. Bobolink's enjoy hayfields, meadows, weedy fields and marshes.
