These photo's of the Rose-Breasted Grosbeak were taken at the Chippewa Nature Center on May 14, 2010. The first photo is a female, the second photos is a male.
These photo's of an Evening Grosbeak were taken on January 23, 2010. During my travels through Iosco County, I noticed all the bird feeders and bird activity. Luckily, I could beat the cold weather and photograph the birds from inside the warmth of my truck.
These photo's of a young male Rose-Breasted Grosbeak were taken in my back yard on September 29th. I'm not totally pleased with these photo's, but they were taken from inside my house looking through the window with UV film and the screen. By the time I got outside, it was gone!
These photo's of an Evening Grosbeak were taken at the Hartwick Pines State Park on August 15th. The Evening Grosbeak is about 8 inches in length. They have a very large, conical bill. The male is dull yellow, with a dark head and yellow eyebrow stripe, with black and white wings. The female is silvery gray, with just enough yellow, black and white to be recognizable.
These photo's of a male Rose-Breasted Grosbeak were taken at the Chippewa Nature Center on June 4th. As you can see, this bird seemed to enjoy being photographed.
