Birds ~~ Great Horned Owl

Hello Everyone...


These photo's of the two Great Horned Owlets were taken at the Chippewa Nature Center on April 30, 2010.  The nest is located on the north side of the Chippewa River just about where it meets with the Pine River.  Sorry for the poor quality in the photo's, as these photo's were taken from across the river from the River Point Area.

Wildlife Center of Virginia

Hello Everyone...


During my visit to Norfolk, Virginia, I had the opportunity to visit the Wildlife Center of Virginia in Waynesboro, Virginia on April 19, 2010.  You can read more about this facility HERE. 


To give you a bit of background information...A Norfolk Botanical Garden Eaglet, hatched in May, 2008, now named Buddy, contracted Avian Pox.  You can read more about Buddy HERE.  Unforuntately, Buddy did not want his photo taken that day.


The first photo of a Barred Owl and the second photo of a Great Horned Owl are educational bird.

Birds ~~ Great Horned Owl

Hello Everyone...


There is a pair of Great Horned Owls nesting at the Chippewa Nature Center.  Unfortunately, the nest is across the river.  In this photo, you can only see the top of the females head, as she sits and incubates the eggs.  I hope to have some more photo's as time goes by.
