Hello Everyone...
I'm glad to see this bird is still in the area and hasn't migrated farther north for the summer. This bird is fairly small, 4 to 5 inches in length. It is a heavily streaked finch with a deeply notched tail and a pointed bill. There's a touch of yellow in the wings and at the base of the tail, but is not always evident.
This photo was taken on Mar 30th while walking at the Chippewa Nature Center.

Another visitor in my back yard. This is a Pine Siskin and should be migrating north soon. This bird is only about 4 inches in length. This photo was taken on Mar 19th.

We had some bright sunshine this morning, so I ventured out with camera in hand. I found a Pine Siskin. I didn't realize just how small this bird is. I'm learning something new every day!!
