Hello Everyone...
These photo's of a Spotted Sandpiper were taken at the Chippewa Nature Center on June 5th. The first two photo's are of an adult and the third photo is of a fledgling. I was really surprised at how fast the young one moved...hehe! I got the one photo and the young one was in the grass!!

Birds ~~ Solitary Sandpiper
Hello Everyone...
These photo's of a Solitary Sandpiper were taken at the Chippewa Nature Center on May 11th. These birds are 8 to 9 inches in length. They are a dark-backed sandpiper, whitish below, with a white eye-ring and greenish legs. They usually feed alone rather than in groups. Note dark wings and conspicuous white sides of tail, crossed by bold black bars.

Birds ~~ Spotted Sandpiper
Hello Everyone...
This in-flight photo of the Spotted Sandpiper was taken at the Chippewa Nature Center on May 2nd. These birds are 7 to 8 inches in length and can be found along shores of small lakes and streams. In breading plumage, they have round breast spots. In winter plumage, no spots. This is my first sighting of the Spotted Sandpiper and I'm not totally please with this photo.
