Hello Everyone...
These photo's of a Solitary Sandpiper were taken at the Chippewa Nature Center on May 11th. These birds are 8 to 9 inches in length. They are a dark-backed sandpiper, whitish below, with a white eye-ring and greenish legs. They usually feed alone rather than in groups. Note dark wings and conspicuous white sides of tail, crossed by bold black bars.
